At the dawn of the 21st century — after having been under so many yokes and having undergone the History that we all know — Vietnamese society is now accomplishing its own fulfilment. On the quest for modernity, the country is pragmatically projecting itself forward, following the logic of tabula rasa, via the dual movement of destruction/reconstruction. Brygo sets out to roam the vast southern plains of the country. He wanders around industrial wasteland, interstitial zones, territories on hold, seeking for signs, artefacts : memorial markers, fiction and tale generators… He plans to scan the landscape and discover what the tabula rasa have excavated and shaped. His work resembles subjective, poetic and prospective visual archeology.
