Les murs d’en face

France

Showing Les murs d’en face (The walls across) as monuments, this series is a postcards pastiche. These photographs are an Ode to vernacular architectures as well as the walls of those around us. All of the ordinary space has a potential of beauty, as strange as this beauty may be. The approach consists in keeping a gaze outside of this easily understood beauty. Hence the question, could one even be a photographer without owning a camera ? Those cameras are not the artist’s property but were borrowed at the discretion of our acquaintances and friendships.  No digital transformations were made to the photographs, thus the artistic approach sublimating the vernacular is in: the process, the gesture and the result.
